What are considered traditional Cherokee foods? PDF Print E-mail
Cherokees are known for corn, beans and squash, known as the “Three Sisters.” These were our staple foods for many, many years, in addition to deer, turkey, non-poisonous plants and roots of the forest, berries, potatoes, pumpkin, fish, soup, cornbread, and popcorn. Today, traditional foods include wild onions and eggs, brown beans, kanvtsi, and grape dumplings.
