Hi, I am trying to trace back my family's ancestry before everyone who knows something passes away.  Here is the problem, my great grandfather's family was said to be cherokee--he resided in TN.  No one knows his parents' names.  He was born 1888 and died 1979 in MO.  His brothers: Charles, Ott, and William that family remember are all deceased and are said to have been born around Lexington, TN.  He had one sister, Sarah also deceased.  Everyone farmed.  There are no birth and death certificates for generations.  My great grandfather's name was John Mark Jones and he married Dora Jane Alexander born 1894 on Feb 1, 1907 in TN.  They had several children who all died of Tb? then another family: Clementine, Kathleen, Purvis and Curtis, Estell, and Pearl (deceased).  I would appreciate any suggestions or help.  We believe that they pretty much stayed in TN, were not part of Trail of Tears, likely not on final roll because unlikely to have moved to Oklahoma--but may have --who knows.  My e-mail is schmida2@hotmail.com
